Code A Weld comprises a determined team of knowledgeable professionals who have immense pride in the value of our services and the quality of our customer relationships.

Each department has its own dedicated team, with the work of all our inspectors and technicians audited against our UKAS/PCN-approved procedures by a quality manager who ensures on going compliance and professionalism.

Our welding inspectors work to a specific in-house procedure that wholly satisfies the requirements of ISO 17020; our fully qualified laboratory technicians follow specific in-house procedures that meet the requirements of ISO 17025; and our annual UKAS audits ensure that staff performance and systems are assessed by an external body against these internationally recognised standards.

Clive Slocombe - Senior Inspector

Clive has been with the company for over 17 years, with his experience during this time spanning all of our departments. He ran our UKAS-accredited mechanical testing laboratory for over five years and has detailed knowledge of both mechanical and Non-Destructive Testing. He currently represents the British Engineering and Manufacturing Association (BEMA) on the WEE/36 BSi Committee, which has input into the development and ongoing suitability of welding standards/codes. Along with being technical leader of SAFed TC4 materials and welding committee. Clive also represents Code A Weld on the UKCABS committee for PED. These areas of expertise include interpretation and understanding of many welding standards/codes including, but not limited to, ASME IX Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes, BS EN 287, BS EN ISO 9606 and all parts of the BS EN ISO 15614 range.

Adam Gould - Senior Inspector

Adam has worked for us for over 12 years, initially joining the company as a Laboratory Technician in the ISO 17025 UKAS-accredited laboratory. Prior to his employment with us, Adam spent four years at the University of Bath's Mechanical Engineering Department. After quickly adapting to life at Code A Weld, he went on to run the laboratory for four years then became quality manager for the entire organisation. This experience has helped him in his current role as Head of Inspection, which he continues in today. He currently represents the Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) on the BSi Committee WEE/36, which has input into the development and ongoing suitability of welding standards/codes.

Lee Rowlands – General Manager – Laboratory & NDT.

Starting from the age of 16 and working within all the departments, Lee has spent almost 12 years with Code A Weld. He currently runs our UKAS-accredited laboratory and NDT facility. Lee has spent time in the inspection department to give him technical knowledge of welding procedures as well as carried out on-site NDT during his early days with the company. Lee started out as a workshop assistant, moving to the laboratory two years later, where he performed mechanical testing and examination of weldments and metallic materials. His past experience and PCN qualifications have been extremely beneficial for the running of our lab that specializes in the approval of welding procedures and welder qualifications, failure investigations and parent material analysis.

Pete Wenmoth - Office Manager

Pete has been with Code A Weld for 4 and a half years as a welding inspector previously and now as an Office Manager. His new role involves running the day to day side of the office, managing bookings and customer enquiries.

Nicky Jones - Quality Manager

Nicky has worked for us for 9 years and has one of the most vital roles within Code A Weld. She ensures the quality systems for both the laboratory and inspection departments comply to the relevant standards. Nicky is responsible for performing internal audits on the quality system, personnel, procedures etc. in line with the audit schedule. She liaises with other members of top level management through regular meetings regarding quality systems, personnel training needs and requirements, as well as aiding departmental management teams to add and increase scope of accreditations when necessary. Nicky's role also involves liaising with UKAS regarding their annual visits.
