Well Paid
Year on year, there are less people entering labour intensive jobs due to the increase of opportunities in fields such as technology. However, this does not mean that the demand has decreased for individuals who work in labour intensive industries. Welders are a prime example of this as there is a fairly sizeable shortage of workers in the welding industry.
As a result, this higher demand has led to increased pay for welders making it a great career choice for young, ambitious individuals. With excellent entry-level pay, trainee welders are able to master their craft, whilst still earning a healthy income.
Does Not Require A Degree
University isn’t for everyone and there is often the misconception that you will not be able to land a good job without a degree. This is usually not the case and definitely not so in the welding industry.
Most welders start as apprentices where they can learn on the job and hone their skills whilst earning an income at the same time. There is also a clear path to be followed once a trainee welder has finished their apprenticeship, giving them ample progression opportunities.
